Offline Guru Robert Kiyosaki Critique
There is such a fuss about Robert Kiyosaki that you almost
feel compelled to read his books, and almost seduced to go to his seminars to
really get the good stuff and the inside track. However, that does not qualify
him for providing the type of advice that will really make you a ton of money,
but rather only that he is an excellent marketer.
As I looked for information on Mr. Kiyosaki it was clear
to me that although there is quite a bit of negative information, the vast
majority of people have enjoyed his books and feel like they learned something
from them. It seems however that he is just another self-proclaimed real estate
and investment guru that has made his wealth in the seminar business.
Like I say throughout this website, if you want to read
his info get it second hand and save a bundle. It seems to me that many have
learned from reading his books. I do not see however that his seminar is
necessary.
I have invested in the markets over the years both real
estate and stock, and it is my opinion that the more information that you can
get your hands on, especially from people who practice what they preach, then
you will be better off for it. It is not about getting a warm fuzzy; it is
about making money, and if you want to make money in any business it is
imperative that you work with those people that are actually doing what they
preach.
I am a real estate investor and all I can tell you is that
you need to develop a network of people that you work with who can make you
strong where you are weak. If you are being mentored by another individual or
group or have gone thru course after course and have tried to succeed but are
finding it difficult, give me a call at 760-931-4770 or e-mail me at John@jcsbicca.com and I will discuss with
you my program. I have money available for gap financing and fix up so that you
can succeed. I already have 40 students that I am helping. These
are not my students but another company that specializes in mentoring. My
capacity is limited so I am very selective. So contact me to see if you qualify.
The following are comments from others in regards to Mr.
Kiyosaki’s books and seminars:
1) “The great Robert Kiyosaki, for example, has dodgy
creative finance seminars down to a fine art form, if you ever see him work
you'll note that while he never shares anything useful, he does mention lease options a
lot, as well as vendor finance, both techniques that have little relevance to
most real estate investors yet suitably impressive sounding, you can draw the
marks out for seminar after seminar as you promise to finally one day release
the secret of how these work.
What I liked was his books, which can be summed up as go
and buy houses that some idiot is selling well below market price, and then
sell them.
He also very effectively communicates a sociopath
personality with a singular focus on wealth as sole determinant of a person's success.
To tell you the truth, I did go looking for houses selling well below market
price, but didn't manage to find any.
Kiyosaki writes of a fairy tale land that exists only in
seminars. His books are completely fictional. I've decided that next time I will
just invest in one of Bobby's companies, where he is in charge of finding these mythical
properties, and I am more than happy to pay him a commission of 50% of profits
for doing so. Unfortunately I haven't
seen one mentioned.
Robert Kiyosaki does not own any real estate companies. In
fact searches of titles show he hardly even owns any real estate. He has no
substantial holding in any listed company at all. Prior to the Rich Dad
books becoming such successes he was pretty much penniless.
He is a total fraud who never made any money at all with
investments, his sole source of income is his “Rich Dad” franchise, book
royalties and seminars. He started out his career by lying about his wealth,
now the true believers are willing to throw so much money at him to hear him
speak that he now has real wealth, but he knows little in the way of wealth
creation itself.
If you wanted to read a book about Robert Kiyosaki’s
actual wealth creation methods it would be entitled Creating Wealth Through
Writing Wealth Creation Books and putting on expensive seminars with a real
estate flavor.”
2) “You will have to do more than order this course if
you want to be rich! That being said, there is some great information in this
program. Choose To Be Rich is an excellent overview of the structure and
systems someone needs to work toward being rich.
Robert Kiyosaki is probably very rich, not only from what
he owns, but from the sale of his books, courses, and seminars.
This course tells you a lot about how Mr. Kiyosaki became
wealthy and the relationships you should develop with various CPA's, Tax
Attorneys, Financial Planners etc. It does not however, give specific advice on
how the money is actually made. It seems to be more of an attempt to change
your mindset in relation to wealth and money.
If you read Mr Kiyosaki's Rich Dad Poor Dad you
will find much repetition in this course. However, there are quite a number of
heart-warming stories, interviews with his professionals, and some fine
encouragement. If you are looking for a specific method of becoming wealthy he
leaves that up to you.
Robert Kiyosaki and Choose To Be Rich are both interesting
and engaging and it does open your mind to a new way of thinking. I found
myself waiting for the MEAT of the program and it was never served! I would
recommend this course for a pretty in depth overview of what needs to be in
place, when you figure out how to make a lot money. It will not tell you how to
do that!
As a result of ordering the program, Robert Kiyosaki did
mail me an invitation to his seminar. At the seminar he promised to tell me
some exact methods for making a lot of money. The price tag for that was
$4,995!”
I do not recommend Mr Kiyosaki for one reason and one
reason only: 1) Teach a man to fish and he can feed himself for a life time. I
do not believe that he provides that key ingredient. You see I believe that a
person needs more then a warm fuzzy or a band-aid, a person needs to be given
and master exact models and methods of making money. The top person doing it
for the stock market is naturally Warren Buffet, and for the real estate market
Donald Trump. Those are people worth learning from.
