OnlyCritiques.com Review:
William J. McCorkel was a regular on late night info commercials in the nineties. He was running many ads around 1997 and early 1998. His info commercial showed how to make big money through government auctions and elaborated about how you can get everything for peanuts at these auctions. The only thing lacking was people to buy at these auctions.
William J. McCorkel would do his info commercials in front of a huge three million dollar home. He would go round in a jet plane with his name on the side, and sail in a luxury yacht, which too he claimed to be his. William’s wife also used to accompany him in his commercials and rides.
William J. McCorkel projected himself as an investor who made millions from distressed property and auctions. William promised that he would be present at every step during the auction for your help. He was willing to be a partner with his clients. However, his projections about government auctions were total fraud. William was not working with anybody and was only taking the profits. He did not offer any help to anybody at auctions and just moved off or did not pay any heed to other’s plights. Many complained about William and his wrong doings. William and his wife also tried to flee the country and move their funds to other shores.
FBI, USPS, and IRS raided William J. McCorkel’s Cash Flow, Inc. and shut down its operations. The company was indulging in racketeering and deceptive advertising. Besides, business practices of the company were unfair and could not refund money to over fifty complainants. Soon, the Federal started investigations for fraud and impeding federal investigations. The Wisconsin State Bureau of Consumer Protection publishes a Guide for Wisconsin TV stations, listing several questionable infomercials. William’s info commercial also ranks among them. He also lied to actors and friends and made them appear on the commercials. His yacht and jet was on rent for a few hours only.
Although OJ Simpson attorney F Lee Bailey was William J. McCorkel’s defender, he could not get him off. Both William J. McCorkel and his wife received a punishment of twenty-four years in prison each.
