OnlyCritiques.com Review:

According to the US Government, Identity theft is stealing of your personal information solely for committing fraud. Simply out, it is the fraudster stealing your simple details like name, address, credit card information, social security number, and other identification information. Thereafter, fraudster uses them as if he is the real you. Obviously, your credit and other bills mount to exorbitant amounts. Identity theft leaves you high and dry.

It is very easy to commit Identity theft. You normally have to give these basic details for acquiring cell phones, applying for credit, and similar regular necessities. A fraudster could be lurking anywhere, at places offering basic services, at employment agencies, and others. Another way of becoming a victim of Identity theft is by someone stealing your wallet. Your wallet normally contains all such essential identification information through your credit cards, identity cards, and the like.

You can follow certain precautions to keep Identity theft at bay. Carry along only certain essential identifications in your wallet. Keep your important credit cards at home and take them only if you need it specifically. Collect your mail early in the day and do not allow your mail to remain in your mailbox, making it an easy target for thieves to steal.

Keep a check on your credit card bills and inquire if any of your bills is inordinately late or if you skip your monthly bills. Divulge information about your personal details only if it is necessary. Besides, check well before giving such details to merchants, employers, or property owners. Do not tell out your details to recent and sudden acquaintances. Similarly, do not give your personal information to various spam on e-mails.

If you become the victim of an Identity theft, immediately report the matter to relevant authorities by lodging a police report, informing credit card issuers and request them to flag your account with fraud investigation, inform phone companies and other utility services too. Get your credit report and review all details for accuracy. Such Identity theft can deprive you of securing home loans, seeking employment opportunities, seeking your credit score, and make you feel helpless.
