Jay P. DeCima is a real estate guru with over 45 years of experience in the business. However, he prefers to present himself as just another country boy. He has spent nearly half the time of his career in fixing-up rundown houses. He specializes in renovating ugly houses and small apartment buildings. Besides his real estate career, Decima has worked on a telephone job for 23 years. He quit that job in 1980 to pursue real estate full-time. He claims that currently he owns and manages two hundred investment houses.

Jay P. Decima started sharing his knowledge and experiences ten years ago. He conducts three-day Trade Secrets seminars. He also conducts Fixing Rundown Houses and Managing for Money twice a year. He offers home study training products, which are popular. He calls his series of products "Fixer Jay". His KJAY Publishing Company distributes these products.

Jay P. Decima has authored several books on real estate investment. These are no-nonsense books with valuable information. They include "Start Small, Profit Big in Real Estate", "Sweat Equity", etc. His popular book "Investing in Fixer-Uppers" is a good source of information for both beginners and experienced real estate investors. Critics say that it is one of the most practical books on real estate investing.

Jay P. DeCima’s workshops and seminars draw people in large numbers. He presents a three-day "Fixer House Camp". This camp charges around $800 per person.

As a business guru, Jay P. Decima is dependable. He has a name for delivering on promises. Many people find his products expensive. However, his charges are reasonable comparing to what some other gurus charge for some useless products. His books are good with down-to-earth advice. However, it is difficult to agree with Jay P. Decima when he suggests that one does not need computers to analyze data or manage investments. His books contain some factual errors as well.
