Foreclosure Town is a website offering foreclosure property leads that you can search by the names of the towns. The Foreclosure World group handles this site. The group also has business under the names Foreclosure School and Foreclosure Leads. The Jordan Publishing Corporation of California runs the entire operation. Stacey Wachtel and Bill Steiger are the owners of Jordan Publishing.

Foreclosure Town claims that its representatives in the courthouses keep a tab on homeowners filing bankruptcy or facing foreclosure notice.  They offer the details of those people and their properties in their database. You can contact those homeowners directly after obtaining their contact details.

The Foreclosure Town website offers search that is not completely reliable. You can search for foreclosure properties in your area. For that, you will need to shell out US$368 to sign on as a member. Then only you will get whatever contact details they provide. Once you pay the membership fee, you cannot get it back even if you are not satisfied with the service.

The biggest trouble is that even after paying up the money, you cannot expect to find a huge number of properties as they promise. They have only a few properties and the database is poor in quality. You will find duplicate addresses and properties without any contact details.

Another major problem with Jordan Publishing is that it bombards people with junk mails. Besides, Foreclosure Town and Foreclosure World – both have connection with several frauds. For example, they have a record of charging credit cards without delivering products. Many believe that they operate under several names only to cheat people.

In 2003, the California Department of Real Estate had issued a Desist and Refrain Order to Jordan Publishing for Unlicensed Activities. The company may have acquired license for their activities now. However, it is still doubtful as to how ethical their operations are.
